Gameplay

No projectile is too small

Evacuation 5 draws from bullet hell games. Dodge tiny enemy shots, keep the zombies from taking over, and master your main weapon when rare power ups appear.

Difficulty and music

The clock fights back

The challenge is not linear. As the countdown gets closer to zero, more zombies swarm the arena and the soundtrack becomes more intense.

Incredible, but true. Evacuation 5 surpassed 100 downloads in less than a week since its release. Honestly, we did not expect to reach this milestone so quickly. We thought it would take months. This achievement made us incredibly happy, and we still cannot quite believe it.

The development of Evacuation 5 started as a simple test to practice C sharp in Unity, with the goal of improving our skills for future projects. Over time, what began as a basic experiment grew into something much bigger. More people joined the team, and eventually, we worked together.

To be honest, they are really talented individuals. Five people, just like the name of the game, which is a fun coincidence. Each person contributed their skills to bring this project to life.

Development took around a year and a few months due to some internal challenges that slowed us down. If we had been able to work on it consistently, we think the game could have been completed in just 3 to 4 months. However, the experience and knowledge we gained during this process will be invaluable for future projects.

For now, the game still needs some updates and additional content to become a more solid experience, something more than just a quick five minute playthrough. We are planning to release updates over the coming months, fix a few issues, and even launch a free PC version on itch.io soon.

This is just the beginning for us, and we are excited to continue learning and developing more games and experiences in the future. To everyone who has taken the time to play Evacuation 5, thank you so much. We truly appreciate it.

Deepest Legends and what is next for Metablade Studios

It has been a while since our last blog post, and during all this time, we learned one powerful truth: creating something meaningful requires not just effort, but consistency. You have to keep pushing forward, even when things do not feel right, or when it seems like everything is going to fail.

Game development is rough. Sometimes you look back and realize you spent weeks trying to fix something that still does not feel good enough. That part is really tough. But the reward of finally seeing your idea come to life, polished and functional, is a feeling that is hard to match.

Still, finishing the game is only the beginning. Publishing it, marketing it, and making sure it does not disappear into the void of a digital store is the real challenge.

We are excited to share that we finished writing the full Game Design Document for our next big project. Development is set to begin later this year, and our goal is to have a fully playable beta version within 3 months of starting production.

We spent several months refining the idea, and we believe we came up with something quite unique. Something that might stand out from the usual crowd. While we are not revealing the concept just yet, we can say this: even if the theme is not our usual style, exploring new genres and styles is key to learning and creating even bigger things in the future.

This new game will be a big step forward for us, with more complex mechanics, deeper systems, and a much larger scope than Evacuation 5. We will share more details soon, but for now, we are sharpening our skills and pouring our energy into bringing Dead Journey to life.

But wait, what is Deepest Legends?

In the meantime, we also created a small experimental minigame just for fun. This was not meant to be a serious project, but a way for us to explore new tools, especially Python.

In less than a week, we built Deepest Legends, a tiny RPG adventure that mixes fast paced battles with light inventory management. It is short, chaotic, and kind of fun, and you can try it now.

Just a heads up: this was purely an experiment, so bugs and weirdness are part of the package, but we promise a fun little ride.

We would love it if you tried it out and shared your feedback. It will help us improve future projects and keep evolving as developers.

Thanks for joining us on this journey. We are just getting started. Until next time.
